Rostering Rules

Sample Rostering Rules        

1        Is it a short shift and the employee has just finished another short shift        

2        Does the client require or prefer the employee to be inducted?        

3        Has the employee received the client's required or preferred inductions?        

4        Is it a requirement that the employee be inducted (rather than 'preferred')?        

5        Does the employee have the day off that is to be rostered?        

6        Will making the employee work this day cause them to work more than 6 days in a row?        

7        Will making the employee work this shift cause them to have less than the required minimum 8 hour break?        

8        Will making the employee work this shift cause them to have less than the standard 10 hour break?        

9        Has the employee volunteered to take 8 hour breaks rather than the standard 10 hours?        

10        Will working this shift cause the employee to go into overtime?        

11        Can (and has) the employee volunteered for additional shifts?        

12        Has the job been copied from another        

13        Did the employee work the same job the day before (the day to be rostered)?        

14        Is it an away job and the employee will already be onsite (because rostered to site for the previous day)?        

15        Is employee low on hours and might not make minimum hour requirements (eg 16 hours for PPT)?        

16        How often has the employee worked for the client or foreman?        

17        Is the employee preferred by the client or the foreman?        

18        Has the employee been black listed by the client or foreman?        

19        Is there a vehicle or equipment allocated to this employee?        

20        Has the employee volunteered for additional work?        

21        Is the shift an away job and the employee is casual?        

22        Does the client have permanent staff applied        

23        Is this employee one of those staff        

24        Are Other applied staff still available                        

25        Is this shift longer than x hours and has the employee volunteered for longer shifts        

26        Is the employee on a preferred list        

27        is the preferred list for this company        

28        are shifts still available for the preferred lists for other companies        

29        is the employee casual        

30        are there enough PPTs for the shift left        

31        Are UBD Numbers Close        

32        Do we penalise casuals        

33        Handicap setting from contact status
