Case Sensitivity for Shift Types

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The processing of shift types is based on the premise of the four statuses Driver/Pass/STS and PIV (Permanent Issue Vehicle) with each having a corresponding action in both invoicing and payroll.

The triggers are currently based on the wording of the shift type and although flexible, are very specific in their format and actions, so creation of new types without an understanding of the structure will have unintended results.

The wording is also case sensitive allowing some odd variations between billing and payroll.

Billing Recognizes -

Anything beginning with DRI or PIL or DEPOT - D in any case upper or lower or mixed as a driver

All others are billed as a non-driver.

Payroll is more specific -

Anything beginning with Driver in the exact case as a driver with the employee settings modifying to PIV as required.

Anything beginning with Author in the exact case as a passenger e.g. the current Authorized Passenger.

Anything beginning with Pil or STS or Straigh in the exact case as a straight to site.
