Verify Job Docket

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

After scanning and verifying the scan you must enter the docket details into ManStat (see "Staff Call In's").  After entering at least one of the employee's details off the docket you may then verify the docket details.

From the "Administration" drop box, select "Verify Job Docket…" The below screen will appear. Enter the docket number in the Job Sheet box, press enter or tab and the details of the job will appear.

Before any details are changed or verified, check if all details greyed out are correct and mirror the docket, and that the docket that is displayed is in fact the correct number.

Check :-

-        the client matches

-        the dates match

-        scanned docket matches

If anything differs, investigate the reason why.

If all details are correct, verify the times on each Employee. This is done by starting in the first column's "Travel Start" and tabbing right through until the cursor reaches the "Travel Start" box of an empty column. Then press "Save".

If there are any staff sitting in the box marked "Staff on Same Job with a Job Sheet" double click the staff and they will drop into the grid below, ready to be verified.  In this case be mindful if there is more than 4 employees on a job or multiple dockets, that you are only double clicking the correct employees on the correct docket.

Docket entry staff have a difficult job, primarily because the human brain isn’t naturally adapted to the task. We’re wired for visual pattern matching, and are great at picking out something we know to look for — for example, a lion in a sea of tall grass.

But we’re much less adept at detecting random exceptions in uniform data. Faced with an endless stream of identical objects, the brain quickly concludes that everything is identical and there’s no point in paying attention. By the time the exception comes around, the brain simply doesn’t notice it. This psychological phenomenon isn’t just a problem in airport screening: It’s been identified in inspections of all kinds, and is why casinos move their dealers around so often. The tasks are simply mind-numbing.
